The situation in Ukraine

It’s getting worse and worse in Ukraine. Though the Australian media has stopped bothering to report much more than the latest baby animals at the zoo in Sydney, I’m glad the major international news networks are covering it (even if they insist on using the Russian names for the cities!).

But how long can this go on? It has been over two months and there’re no signs of anything improving. It’s the middle of winter. The pro-Russian government isn’t going to do anything they don’t want to do – they’ll just wait them out.

I was last in Kyiv in June.

Wow, that looks awful–shame the media is not covering it fully. I can’t imagine what it is like there for people.

    • People would prefer ‘new’ news after a few days, so they stop caring…
Ukraine is a mess, but because nobody knows about all the troubles with Russia it’s hard for them to understand what’s going on with this current situation. 😦
