Stick Insect Invasion

I don’t think there’s such thing as “Stick Insect Season”, but we have them everywhere at the moment. This guy spent the entire day on the window. I did a (very scientific) measurement and it (he, she?) was about the length of two of my hands. You can’t see in the pictures – it would have helped if there wasn’t a massive flyscreen blocking the view – but if you didn’t know better you would have thought it was actually a stick. Excellent camouflage!

Amazing how I can see a spider a quarter of this size and hate it, but like it when it’s a Phasmatodea!
