The Old Bakery Cottage in Berrima

The Old Bakery Cottage in Berrima, in New South Wales’ Southern Highlands. We sometimes stop in this little convict-era town on the way to Canberra. This was taken in April, but we’ll be passing by again a couple of times this weekend.

  1. Interesting looking place. When you say “convict-era,” are you referring to when that country was the dumping ground of inmates from other countries?

    • Yep. in the 1800s when they were settling the area, they used convicts to build a lot of the places in the region. The biggest tourist attraction in the town is the gaol, but I haven’t been there yet. 🙂
