Ukraine signs with the European Union

After months of protests, countless deaths and an invasion by Russia, today Ukraine finally signed the deal with the European Union the Ukrainian people had wanted from the outset. All these months, and the thing that sparked it all is finally achieved.

It all seems such a waste. So many dead, and more deaths to come because Vladimir Putin and a deposed Ukrainian President are too greedy for their own good. Bastards.

Ice Skating in Canberra

It’s Christmas all over again in Canberra. The city’s outdoor ice skating rink is looking very pretty this year.

This was taken after dinner, late on Saturday night, so there wasn’t a lot of action. We’ll have to get back there next weekend to see the skaters.

On the lake in Canberra

My brother took this while he was on a bike ride around Canberra’s Lake Burley Griffin this morning. We’ve been having a lot of bright, sunny days.

Not a bad winter.

Look what Russians did to the Ukrainian church in Sydney, Australia.

Russian aggression is most certainly not contained to the east of Ukraine. This isn’t the first time they’ve done something to us here in Australia. A busload of hired thugs came to the embassy in Canberra only a few days ago. It’s becoming harder and harder to be able to say, “Not all Russians” when they’re relentless in their nasty attacks.

A bit more autumn

We don’t have as many colourful leaves in Canberra now, but there’re still some around. Autumn was too warm, and the trees don’t seem to know what they’re doing. So much for the official prediction we wouldn’t have much in the way of autumn colours this year!
