Cats are Gone!

Cats Queanbeyan Australia 25th November 2014 Sonya Heaney Oksana Heaney

In the end it all happened faster than expected. After saying goodbye to our first kitten on Saturday, I found a home for both of the other kittens (together!) immediately. In fact, I had multiple offers.

Because we were worried about Mum walking off to look for her kittens, she went first, on Tuesday evening. And then the kittens on Wednesday morning. I stayed in New South Wales overnight to babysit.

I want our cats back!

Driving Home

A bit of a fuzzy shot from the car when we drove back into Canberra from New South Wales a few days ago.

Heatwave in Canberra

Driving home, past The Lodge – the official residence of Australia’s Prime Minister – in Canberra yesterday afternoon. It was So Hot yesterday, almost forty degrees.

Goodbye, Socks.

The first of our kittens went to his new home today. Socks was the most independent and so the most ready to go, but I really hate saying goodbye to any of the cats! Off he went with his new family and an old knotted piece of stocking. His favourite toy he took everywhere.

The kittens had a trip to the vet yesterday, which was… interesting. They were fine with the actual vet part, but containing three kittens that are capable of jumping out of everything and running away from anything… They’d never been much beyond the shed before.

The mother cat was another matter. She lazes around all day until you try and put her in a carrier. And then she’s off at a hundred miles an hour. She got herself lost at the front of the house and came to me for instructions how to get back to the shed!
