Lake George isn’t that far out of Canberra. As you can see, there’s no longer any water in it, and it’s now farmland! It hasn’t been that long since the water disappeared; within my lifetime.
This was taken out the car window when we were driving back from Sydney a few days ago.
On the way home from lunch for my brother’s birthday on Sunday. Canberra’s sky went all streaky. I’ll probably post a whole lot of pictures in the next few days, because in this one you can’t see much! I used to hate the blue stuff they put on that bridge, but I think it has grown on me…
Driving from Queanbeyan to Canberra on Sunday afternoon. *
The shortest day of the year has passed here (thank God!), but the sun still sets early. After a day of cleaning out my late-grandmother’s house – one of many – we were heading home when the sky looked like this. It was only about 4pm.
This was taken from Queanbeyan, New South Wales, but the sunset was over Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
I had to snap it fast while we were driving, so it’s far from perfect.
Driving into Canberra on the way back from Sydney on Sunday. I wonder where the nickname “The Bush Capital” comes from… *
I think I posted something similar recently, but here’s another sunset shot from Canberra.
This is a picture of Bath, England from my first visit in December 2000. There was so much snow that winter! I’d just moved to England a few weeks earlier, and this was all new to me! *
