With the temperatures in the thirties, it’s going to be an indoor Halloween in Canberra this evening. It’s too sunny and hot outside! (And there have been bushfires burning around here all day.)
We don’t have time for much this year, because we’re packing to travel to China at the end of the week.
Driving home from lunch in Queanbeyan, New South Wales (just over the state border from Canberra) this afternoon.
We get a lot of bright pink sunsets in Canberra during spring and summer. I’ve been overseas for most of spring so far (and will be away again for the first week of November), and last night’s was the first one I got to see.
The construction site in the middle of Canberra’s CBD – what used to be the car park for the Canberra Theatre Centre! There’s so much construction going on here that there’s no longer parking anywhere!
And then just a random shot of the sky this afternoon. It was a gorgeous day. Warm, with bright blue skies.
A sunny, warm afternoon in Canberra, despite the national news – as usual – mistakenly saying it’s raining here (spoiler: it’s not!).
I’ve been sitting on the back deck, sharing it with this currawong, who adopted the entire deck as its house last spring, and now expects to have both tables, and all eight seats, available whenever it wants!
I missed all the blossoms in Canberra this spring (because I was in Ireland/England), but some flowers are only just starting to come out now. I can’t wait for the lilac to be in full bloom in a few days.
