If you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, you’ll know we’re heading into summer now.
Please – if you can – put some water outside your home. You never know what animals will use it, but I guarantee it will be appreciated.
I started putting water out when I got home from Europe in early October – front and back garden – and I’ve had to top it up every day since then.
Animals I know for certain use that water: about fifteen types of bird, a possum and her baby, multiple cats (some owned, some possibly stray), and the odd dog that escapes its backyard and comes visiting.
So: any tray or bowl will do! If you’re hot and thirsty, so are the animals. And we have no rain in inland Australia, so it’s extra important!
