After the horror fires that hit the Canberra region a couple of days ago (and are still burning), the awful muddy yellow smoke has again taken over Australia’s capital city.
Here are some pictures from around 5pm today. The first is an aeroplane flying over our house – on its way back from the nearby fire front. The second is a currawong in a tree in our garden.

How’s this for the first of May?! It’s still in the mid-twenties in Canberra, and I’m working outside this afternoon, with this as my view.
It seems autumn has forgotten to arrive in Canberra (although there are some seasonal colours around now). Our temperatures are still in the high twenties and early thirties every day, and look at the blue skies we have!
