Canberra’s Incredible Sunset Tonight

Here is what Canberra looked like a few minutes ago.

I was going to “sharpen” the pictures before posting them online, because I was standing on a fence and my pictures weren’t very steady, but then I decided against it. So these are “raw” images from tonight.

This is the tunnel that runs beside (sort of under!) Parliament House in Canberra. They used to film international car ads in it, but I haven’t heard about them doing it in recent times…

Sunday at the National Arboretum in Canberra

We went out for lunch at Canberra’s National Arboretum on the weekend, to celebrate my father’s birthday. I’d driven through, but hadn’t been inside before. It’s an interesting construction.

It’s taking over!

Our massive cactus has now grown a huge flower up from the centre. It’s taller than the trees behind it! Little baby cacti are now appearing everywhere too.
