Another shot of the gorgeous autumn afternoon we had in Canberra today. We have a lot of black swans on Lake Burley Griffin, but this one was more interested in ducking into the water for food than in posing for pictures!

We have had such warm temperatures that autumn has been delayed this year. This was Canberra’s Lake Burley Griffin this afternoon. I’m not exaggerating when I say I could not see A THING when I took this picture, the light was so blindingly bright! It’s the only shot from that direction I have that is even remotely straight!

It seems autumn has forgotten to arrive in Canberra (although there are some seasonal colours around now). Our temperatures are still in the high twenties and early thirties every day, and look at the blue skies we have!

Travelling inland and homewards today the sun got brighter, the sky got bluer, and the temperature rose and rose. It’s so hot and dry in Canberra, even though we’re well into autumn now.

This Victorian era cemetery sits on top of a cliff in Moruya Heads. any of the headstones have fallen and broken, but they still mark the graves.
